The Haigler American Legion Post 134 and the Community Center of Haigler is in need of air conditioning in their building.
The use of the building is declining due to the lack of air conditioning.
The Sons of the American Legion Post have been working for sometime to save money for the project and have accumulated about half of the needed funds.
The American Legion has set up a bank account to receive "matching funds" and have set a fund raising goal of $7,500 by May 31, 2012.
If they do not meet that deadline all of the money in the account will be returned to the donors. The Legion hopes they will reach the goal and be able to install the air conditioning before summer.
The American legion is taking donations at all functions. People can also donate by sending a check to:
American Legion Post 134
P.O. Box 56
Haigler, NE 69030
Make checks payable to American Legion Post 134 AC Account.
The Post will send donors a receipt for the contribution.

Remembering George (Butch) Sharp
I moved my brother "Butch" to Broken Bow in June, and on Dec. 3, he went to heaven. I so enjoyed having him close to me these last 6 months. I got the chance to say everything to him I wanted to say. There are no regrets on my part. I am doing my best to honor his wishes for his funeral.
The funeral will be Saturday Dec 10 at the Haiger Methodist Church, viewing at 10 services at 11.
I will miss him, but the MS took my brother away from me a LONG time ago, he fought it so hard, and now the fight is over. I told him I needed him to go on ahead, so that when I get there he will have the horses saddled so we can go ride the new range in heaven. It is a very peaceful feeling for me to know that he was saved and will be in heaven.
Merry Christmas Butch.
