Green Crossing

Al Zuege asked this question in a previous post:

Would also like to hear about Dick and Molly Green and Green's Crossing, was there a bridge or did people ford the river there?
I asked him what he knew about it and he wrote back with this information:
Evidently Dick and Molly Green lived there. It was located 5 miles east of Haigler, just north of where Vernon Trembly lived. Royce Stute knew a lot about it. I am certain that Calvin Freehling could give you a lot of information. I am told that there used to be a sign on Highway 34 that pointed to the crossing.

I still teach Social studies here in Imperial, several years ago I went to a session in Lincoln on Black History in Nebraska. Afterwards I was talking to one of the people from the State Historical Society, somehow it came up in the conversation that I was from Haigler and she asked me for information on Greens Crossing, I referred her to Royce Stute, Calvin Freehling and Mark McVey but they all told me that she never contacted any of them.
Later, A.Z.
