Sharon Ruth and Sheila Louise Rose's parents were Herman Rose and Irene Wiley, who grew up in Haigler. Herman worked on a road gang and rode to and from work on the back of one of the trucks. One day the truck he was riding in was sideswiped by another vehicle and he was badly injured, but was still able to work at some things. They moved to California after a few years in Haigler. The twins were born in California. Their middle names are for grandmothers Ruth Wiley (my aunt) and Louisa Rose.
Louisa Rose owned the place where Biers lived in the 1950s. And her house in Haigler is the house that Violett Workman lives in now. She had another son, Edwin. and 4 daughters : Mrs. Dave Matney (He was a doctor or veterinary). I can't think of the other names right now.
Lousia Rose came to Canada from Germany. She was 16 years old when she married Mr. Rose. I don't know how they met. Mr. Rose had Louie, Paul, and Fred (Lottie Workman's first husband) and Annie (Kruger). Tragedy seemed to stalk that family. The first wife's little boy disappeared from the home and was never found. Lousia's father hung himself in a tree. Mr. Rose was killed in a farm accident, with horses and machinery. After that her barn burned down. I don't know when she got that house in town. That was all before the time that I knew her. The first that I knew her was when we rented her farm in 1941. But some of the children were the age of Rich and in the grade school at the same time he was. Also, Fred Rose (Lottie's husband) was killed in a farm accident with horses and machinery.
Paul Rose was single. His farm was down on the Hackberry near the Orville Carr place and O'leary's.
Fred and Lottie Rose's place was the Earn Workman place.
Louie Rose lived east of our place on the same road.
Bill and Annie Kruger lived a few steps south of the Klinzmann school.
The Crabtree twins have a Haigler mom. Ada Wall m. KC Crabtree.
They first had Jerry. And then twins, Larry and Laurene several years later.
I used to hear from Laurene on internet. I need to find her address. I lost it in my old computer I guess.
The Gilbert Smiths had two sets of twins.
LaVerne and LaVeta
Lavoine and LaVonn
Or maybe it was LaVerne and LaVon and Lavoine and LaVeta...
I forget a lot but LaVerne was in my 2nd grade in Haigler school. He was very much liked by the other kids. And me.
Dorothy and Donnie Brown.
Eloise and Elaine--(I think) Adams.
Elaine worked at the Haigler school for the principal. OR maybe it was JoAnn.
JoAnn married Don Webster I think.
Oh dear!! I shouldn't be telling you these because I have forgotten so much. Floy could find out from someone in Haigler I am sure.

Hi Alice. Thank you for this information on the twins. I just thought it would be interesting to see how many sets were raised around Haigler and who they are. I thought you would probably remember some if you put your thinking-cap on. Your stories are great and love to read them.
