The changing of the clock seems to be later than usual this year. It is almost with irritation that I have to remind myself to get up at 2:00 a.m. this coming Sunday, November 4 to change my clock back to 1:00 a.m. Don't you agree that it is a ridiculous rule to make all of us get up in the middle of the night to change all the clocks in our houses? And then someone else has the audacity to suggest that since I am already up, I might as well change all the batteries in my smoke alarms!!
Well, just so you know, I found a way to fool THEM!!!! I'm going to do it on Saturday night this year, BEFORE I go to bed on November THREE!!!! That will teach THEM!!!
SMOKE ALARMS ARE OKAY IF YOU DONT PUT ANY SMOKE IN THEM. HEH!! THE NEW ONES ARE WIRED IN ELECTRICALLY, BATTERIES ARE ONLY FOR BACK-UP. YES, STANDARD BATTERY ALARMS ARE STILL ON THE MARKET. I HAVE TEN ALARMS IN MY HOUSE, INTER CONNECTED SO WHEN ONE GOES OFF, THEY ALL GO OFF.( I DONT HAVE ANY OVER THE STOVE?????NO SIR))) THE BASEMENT HAS TEN FOOT CEILINGS, SO I NEED A LADDER, BUT NOT AT TWO A.M. TO DO THIS LITTLE TASK. HOWEVER, THEY ARE THE CHEAPEST LIFE INSURANCE YOU CAN BUY. THIS RITUAL IS ALSO KNOW AS FIRE PREVENTION WEEK.

Here"s one for you, a Redneck Smoke Alarm. Nail a package of Firecrackers to the ceiling and then you wont have to change batteries. AAAUUUGGGGHHHH!!!!! Almost the same effect. Dont do the M-80's, might wake up the neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteWe have 6 smoke alarms, and when one goes off they make a peep noise so then I'll check the batteries. The nine volts batteries last more than a year.I'm going to start looking for the new kind for I have never paid any attention to them.
