Haigler's 3rd annual Fall Tumbleweed Festival is coming soon--Saturday, October 23. Watch for ads and fliers this week and next. Everyone is invited for a fun day of celebration. There are no admission fees--just free will donations.
Schedule of events will include neighborhood garage sales from 9a.m.-noon MDT. Maps will be available at "the station" on Hwy. 34. Barbecue begins at 1 p.m. at the Country Schoolhouse Museum grounds on Porter Avenue. Homemade pies and ice cream will be served in the Golden Inn Senior Center.
Music throughout the afternoon is by LaVoine Smith and his Garage Bunch from Burlington, CO--and is a special entertainment you don't want to miss. Treasure Hunts, pinata treats, door prizes, cake walks on the carousel merry-go-round, maypole awards, and tours of the completed Country Schoolhouse Museum are other afternoon activities.
Bring your decorated tumbleweeds (fall-Halloween theme) to be displayed. Prizes will be awarded.
At 3:30 p.m. the Tumbleweed/Spook Parade for kids (including adults) of all ages will begin in front of the Country School House Museum. No motorized vehicles yet this year--but walkers, bicycles, tricycles, wagons, and pull floats can be entered. Prizes will again be awarded.
The tents and tables will be up. You might want to bring your own lawnchairs, too.
Regardless of weather, event will be held--so plan now to attend.
