Update:

Fire Tears Through Pasture and Fields South of Haigler
A fire tore through the pasture and fields south of Haigler, yesterday, west of the Faylor Ranch. Haigler VFD was called to the scene yesterday, about 3pm, to respond. It became apparent immediately, with the gusting winds, that additional resources would be needed. Mutual Aide was notified, with responses by Cheyenne County, Ks, Benkelman, Wray, Wauneta, Co, Wages, Yuma, and others.
Highway 27 was closed from south from Haigler for approximately 5 hours. The fire was contained about midnight, however approximately an hour later, the winds fanned the flames again, with firefighters again responding. About 5 am, this morning, the fire was extinguished. An estimated guess of 300 acres were burned.
