Country Schoolhouse 67 South now has all the playground equipment installed. The 100+ year old carousel merry-go-round came from a country school near Malcom, Nebraska. Bidding was done on-line to acquire this item.
The swings and slide sets came from the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Wray, Colorado. Floy Fisher Ruggles and her family donated this equipment to the church many years ago --and now helped donate it to district 67 South. Plans to add a teeter totter are still in progress. The equipment was installed with the help of volunteers-- Steven Crouse, Marlin Crouse, Marv Carlock, Stan Carlock and Jerry Olsen. Concrete was poured at the bases by the Bob Krutsinger crew of Benkelman.
Everyone is welcome to come see the continuing progress at the school site during the open house over Memorial/Alumni weekend.

Who Will Be There?
I hope you are all planning to be around Haigler for Memorial Day Weekend and the Alumni reunion this year.
It is always good to touch base and regroup every once in awhile. That's what I like to do when I visit Haigler. Somehow it sets my mind to who I am and gives me a renewal of spirit. No matter where I have ever been in my life, "coming home" was always exciting and fun! And I should have done it more often!
Hope to see you around that weekend.

Memorial Day Weekend
I wasn't going to say any thing, but I allready have my airline ticket to Denver, via Alamo car rental to Haigler. I will only be one week from arrival to departure that week-end, if I can afford the gasoline???
Now that the cat is out of the bag, I will have to travel undercover or disguised. I guess I just can't keep a secret.
My friend John will not be there as he will be out on a cruise ship--I really wanted to touch base with him, but I already purchased the ticket, besides I wanted to see family again.

Giant Redwoods
Deb and I are in Oregon for annual company flight training. We had some time off for the weekend so we took a couple of fellow pilots, one from Hawaii and one from Pennsylvania, with us to the coast. They had never seen the giant red woods so it was great fun to watch them looking at these giants and trying to grasp the enormity of it all. Anyway, here is one of the photos that we took and we thought some folks back home might enjoy it. It was a tight squeeze but we made it!

In Case you are Wondering
As you have probably noticed, if you are a regular reader of this blog, there have been very few entries in the blog lately.
Last Sunday night we had a storm front move through the area and when I went to check email on Monday morning, my computer just sat there, unresponsive and black. Therefore, it is in the "hospital" until who knows when!! Whenver, "they" have time to check it out. Then -- If it was the lightening that "deadened" it, I will have to submit it to the insurance company and go shopping for a new one.
In the meantime, if you have something you want posted, I have borrowed a laptop from work and can get online and check email. But the connection is slow and laborous...
So, wish me luck on the computer - I am so thankful that I purchased "My Book" from Best Buy with some gift certificates I received at Christmas. My important documents were backed up.
"My Book" is a wonderful invention that works like a hard drive, but connects to any computer via a USB port, making it possible to have everything on your computer at home on a 4"x5"x2.5" device that you can carry in your purse or briefcase. If you need more storage space or portablity, check it out!
