Dallas Adams

Dallas Duane Adams

Dallas D. Adams passed away at the age of 72 on August 30th, 2012 in Rochester WA while on vacation celebrating 25 years of marriage with his wife Judy Adams.

He was preceded in death by his son Dallas Davidson Adams Jr .,his parents Emmons and Iona Adams and his brother Lester Adams and sister Eloise Adams.

Dallas is survived by his wife Judy Adams, son Will (Kim) Adams; step-daughters Renee (Rob) Picketts, Ronda (Norm) Byrd, Amy (Ken) Phipps, sisters Elaine (George) Corkle and Joann (Don) Webster. He was the proud grandfather to Alyssa (14), little Dallas (2), Loren (1), and Jordan (9). He shared six grandkids with Judy, through her daughters; Nick (22), Zach (20), Hunter (17), Tanner (14), Brandi (13), and Jake (9). Dallas also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dallas was born in Haigler Nebraska on December 7, 1939. He entered the Army for several years, and after his service, he went to work for Western Electric in Seattle. In January of 1967, he went to work for Seattle Fire Department and retired in August of 1992. Even though he retired, he continued to drive every vehicle like he was on his way to a fire! After retiring from the fire department, Dallas worked for the King County courthouse and security for 10 years. In his free time, he also helped his wife with her business.

Dallas and Judy married in August of 1987. In March of 1997 they moved to Camano Island, where they soon fell in love with all its beauty. Dallas was very, very social and he soon joined the Lions club, the Senior Center, the American Legion, Citizens on Patrol, and every club and organization known to the area.

Best of all, he loved spending time with his family and especially his son and grandchildren. He was so proud of his family. Another love he had was for any and all animals, even the ones that we really didn't necessarily want around. As a young child, Dallas and his brother even had a pet skunk!

His smile, mischievous looks and personality were loved by all. His passion for life was an inspiration to everyone. He will live in our hearts forever.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all the firefighters and hotel/casino staff in Rochester who worked so hard and provided such excellent care during this hard time.

Services for Dallas will be on Camano Island at the Camano Center located at 606 Arrowhead Drive on Saturday, September 15th, at 1:00 pm.
