My brother, Dick, was living in Tucson at the time he purchased a Long EZ airplane. He was happy to take people for a ride in it, so I went to the airport with him one day to go for a ride. When I saw the size of that 'bicycle', I changed my mind!! It didn't look very safe to me. I did get in the back seat to see how much room there actually was and once I got in and fastened the seatbelt, there was no room to move!!!
However, Dick did talk his wife, Sharon, into taking a trip with him to the NW USA. I think that was the last time she got in that airplane, also.
This airplane is the same kind of airplane that singer, songwriter, John Denver was flying when he lost his life in 1997.
Dick said it was a very fun plane to fly and was very fast. He used it to commute between Tucson, Arizona and Los Angeles, California. The reason he purchased it was he got tired of flying commercial airlines, sitting in airports and flying on "their" schedule.
