Don Smith wrote about putting up hay, it was very interesting as I worked for a guy by the name of Reece Sims putting up hay. I worked for him about 3 years and I run a buck.
One time when I picked up a bunch of hay to take in to the hay stacker, there was a bunch of bees under the stack and was biting my two horses, they were kicking back and I was trying to hold them. We went around and around before I got them calmed down.
We had a team on the stacker that was pulling the hay onto the stack. There was always one man on top. The team of horses on the stacker would go by themselves when we gave them the command. So I know just what he means about stacking hay.
