The Sheriff served a warrant on three Haigler ladies who will be spending a night in the Haigler Jail unless they can come up with $1000 apiece to pay their bail. They began the day with $500 collected by generous benefactors yesterday at the open house, but they need $2500 more to keep them out of jail!!!
Richard Walter held an auction for 3 food baskets prepared by the ladies in hopes they could raise enough money to meet bail, but alas, the baskets only sold for $55, $105 and $125. Richard asked people to volunteer to match his donation without knowing how much that would be. Several volunteers agreed and Richard donated $100. That brought in another $400 - 500, but still didn't amount to the total of $3000 needed to keep the ladies out of jail.
So, they sherrif marched the ladies out to the jail where they paused for a photo op and another plea for help.
Anyone wanting to help out these ladies probably better send your tax deductable donation as soon as possible as the "real" sherrif will show up in town on Thursday to drag them back to jail for "real"...
