  1. I am sorry to say that I don't remember Paul (Sass), my sincere condolences to his family, but I do remember his sister, Frieda. Turn back the clock 50 years, it was at the High School basketball tournaments being held at Wauneta High School. I would guess the year was 1958 or 59. Frieda was in the Haigler pep-club (cheerleader?) and at the tournament supporting the Haigler baskeball team. I remember talking to her during this ONE occasion, never to be seen or heard from again! Of course I was instantly in love! Typical for a 15 year old kid! But, with no car and no money.. I was left with only the memory! Why this girls name has been stuck in my brain every since I have no idea. I have no image of her face any longer, only her name. I was searching for blizzard of 1949 information I stumbled across this Haigler page, then a last name listing and finally.. there she is.. Frieda! It can't be! I was beginning to think she was only a figment of my imagination! Ok.. I know and understand that we all have had a life of our own for 50 years hence, so please consider this in the context of a passing comet on a 50 year cycle, passing by only to say "Hello.. Frieda", never to be seen again! God bless, and I hope you too had a wonderful life! frau_buhler@yahoo.com

  3. I remember Paul and Frieda very well. I saw them a lot during my summers in Haigler. If Frieda monitors The Haigler Blog, I send my condolences to her on the death of Paul. I also send greetings from the far distant past!
