On August 23, for his 50th birthday, Luke Cochran invited a few friends and the band "Mighty Short Bus" to his house to celebrate. The occasion was called "LUKEJAM" as it has been every year since his 40th birthday 10 years ago.
On the designated weekend, Luke and Sandy's home turned from a peaceful riverside home to a full fledged BBQ and Rock concert where famous Ray's Original Buffalo Wings and plenty of other food and beverage were served.
The quiet beach became a dance floor and the setting for the band's stage was backdropped by the clear water of the Platte River and the parklike acreage beside it.
The garage door marked the way to where the party was being held.
The ribs were started early so they could simmer in the famous
BBQ sauce to a perfection enjoyed by those who lined up at the "Huskers" red canopy placed below the balcony that overlooked thebusy scene.
The MSB played soulful sounds from their album Rogue Nation, which wafted through the darkness for everyone to enjoy. This band has 2 CDs out and have had the distintion of opening for touring groups such as The Black Crows, Bob Segar and others.
Luke proudly displays his favorite gift.
We Wish you a Belated birthday and hope you have many more chances to have your LUKEJAM!!
