In July 2006 seven Professional Land Surveyors from Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas decided to climb to the summit where the original 3 corners was defined in 1854 by the Kansas Nebraska Acto of 1854. i.e., the 40th Parallel and the "summit of the Rockies". The location was surveyed and marked in 1859 and is located west of Boulder on the 40th Parrallel.
