The Haigler Community extends sympathy to the family of Velda Clark Smith. Velda was a Haigler High School graduate and lived most of her life in the Haigler community until her move to Goodland, Kansas a few years ago.
Stan and LaNeta Carlock returned home Friday evening from Greeley and Estes Park, CO.
On Easter Sunday afternoon, Myrna Mulligan and Galena Webster were guests of Stan and LaNeta Carlock. They were all celebrating Stan's just published book of short stories, "Where We Belong."
BIRTHDAYS
Dode and Dale Faylor drove to Burlington, CO, Friday the 22nd to the home of their daughters, Yvonne Clemans and family and Sherri Morabito. They celebrated Dode's birthday the 23rd. Faylors returned home that afternoon. Dode received phone calls from family and friends which made it a very memorable day.
On Monday afternoon, Dode Faylor received a phone call from Ellen Smits. The Faylors call her their Dutch daughter. Ellen spent part of a school year living with them as an exchange student when the Faylors lived in California. Ellen and the Faylor's daughter, Sherri, were in the 12th grade and graduated together. Ellen and her twin sister have taught in the schools in Holland for many years. They plan to visit the Faylors again this year in September.
EASTER EVENTS
Relatives who visited in the home of Laura Pearl Wall on Saturday were Dwight Wall of Lewellen, Azure of Lincoln, Lindsay and Claire Lashley of Palisade, Randy, Laurie, Spencer, Madison and Laura Perila of Westminster, Quentin, Tonya and Taya Simmons, Bob and MerryLu Simmons. It was a cool cloudy day so the Easter egg hunt was held in the house, but everyone enjoyed the festivities. Sandwiches, cookies and punch were served.
On Sunday, Caleb and Sherrill Wall of Eusitis entertained Dwight Wall of Lewellen, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Eyesome of Mullen, NE, and Laura Pearl Wall on Easter Sunday. Allison, Olivia and Whitney entertained their grandparents, Dwight Wall and Joe and Deann Eyesome by counting their buckets of Easter eggs after the Easter egg hunt. Laura Pearl is great-grandmother of Whitney, Allison and Olivia.
MerryLu Simmons visited Laura Pearl Wall on Wednesday afternoon.
On Friday morning, the 22nd, Mel and Norma Fisher, Floy Fisher and Sharna Richardson drove to Denver so Mel could pick up his truck which had been in the shop for repairs. They all enjoyed some shopping and a meal at a Country Buffet before Sharna and Floy returned home so Sharna could get to work at 4:00 in the afternoon. Mel came later in the evening. His truck was not finished until later in the afternoon.
On Sunday, Floy rode with Richard and Sharna Richardson to visit Richard's mother and grandmother in the Loveland/Fort Collins area then to Ault to visit Sharna's daughter, Sonja Howes and family where they enjoyed dinner with Mike, Sonja and son Austin at Mike's parents home next door along with several other their relatives. They returned home in the afternoon.
