This is always a wonderful homecoming for Alumni. I can never tell you how much it means to me, coming home and seeing people I haven't seen for years, and some that I see every year. Isn't it great to look at someone that you haven't seen for years and still recognize them. I think this is called 'never aging'. (I'm pretty sure I'm in that category----haahaa)
This year's MC, Terry Douglas, seemed to appear a little on the nervous side, and probably doesn't realize what a nice job he did in recognizing different classes, different people for the distance they traveled and little stories he told. There is always an enjoyment to see Albert Jr. Zuege go to the 'front of the class', because we never know what he is going to say. You just set there and think 'Oh Lord-----hope it's not something about me'.
Our other hometown people, Almeda Bier, giving recognization of the ones that we have lost, Duane Wall telling us about the windmill he has donated to the museum, Sherri Gregory sharing more details about her mother's (Alice Gregory) book, "From Where I Rock", and the reports that LaNeta Carlock shares with us to keep everyone updated--------all enjoyment to hear about. If I left anyone out---I apologize.
I know miles and health are a great benefit in attendance to the community activities. It's a blessing that those who attend make such an effort to 'come home' to honor our Military Men who we have lost through the years and to show respect to our loved ones that are buried here. It is our 'root's, which we call 'home'. And until next year-------stay healthy so you can 'come home' next year.
