Victor Stasser

How many of you drove cars or trucks from Stasser's in Haigler? My dad purchased & serviced his cars there through the years. He drove a couple of Kaisers and an International pickup and a Mercury and othere, I'm sure. I can remember being with my dad when he took the car in for service. My uncle Lloyd worked there in the shop and he usually was the one who did the work.

My brother, Dick, and I would "explore" every nook and cranny of that mechanics garage. We looked through the tools and watched them work on the motors. I'm sure we made horrible pests of ourselves. Our mamma could always tell when we had been there!!

I remember my dad talking about how fair Vic was in all his dealings and that people from miles around would come there to buy their cars. He never tried to "make and extra buck" on any of his customers. He was a quiet man who had the respect and love of the community.
